That Moment

The club is so hot I’m sweating through my dress
And the musics too loud it’s beating in my chest
Singing and swaying to the songs that we hear
Nothing else matters as we cheer
Then the lights come on and closing time starts to play
I always knew tonight was going to end this way
In the Uber ride home my head starts to clear
That moment has come that moment I fear

And as soon as I’m through the front door
I am all alone once more
And no matter how happy I think I am
It all comes crashing down again
There’s no more audience no need for a show
Only the bad thoughts that no one can know

Champagne on ice dressed to the nines
The rounds keep coming all night
And as we pub crawl down the street
We wake people from their sleep
Singing and dancing and slurring our words
Ours the only voices that can be heard
But then someone decides to call it a night
And I feel the silence reach out and grip me tight

As soon as I’m through the front door
I am all alone once more
And no matter how happy I think I am
It all comes crashing down again
There’s no more audience no need for a show
Only the bad thoughts that no one can know

My walls are down I am defenceless
That voice so loud leaving me senseless
You’re all alone because they all hate you
You cannot be loved no one will date you
Sooner or later the voice is gone
It fades away at the brink of dawn
But the scars made can’t be fixed with a smile
It just holds it at bay for a little while

As soon as I’m through the front door
I am all alone once more
No matter how happy I think I am
It all comes crashing down again
There’s no more audience no need for a show
Only those thoughts that no one can know
