Once upon a time We were all told stories Of princes and princesses In all of their glories But the tales we’re told Of good overcoming evil Were so out of date They’re practically medieval With knights in shinning armour And young girls locked in a tower True loves unconsensual kiss It’s so gross I need a shower. Disney promised me He’d be my Prince Charming But I got a little nervous And drank something calming But this potion is too strong It’s a bit alarming And in the blink of an eye It’s the next morning I’m still just waiting For my Prince Charming. I was told it would be special I was told it would be fun But when it was all over I didn’t even come No horse drawn carriage Came to take me home I had to walk the streets All on my very own And in the hour just before dawn Having lost more than my shoe He wasn’t my Prince Charming That’s about all I knew. Disney promised me He’d be my Prince Charming But I got a little nervous And drank something calming But this potion is too strong It’s a bit alarming And in the blink of an eye It’s the next morning I’m still just waiting For my Prince Charming. Gone are the days Of balls and dances Now you’ll get lucky With just second glances But when the magic runs out And his crown is gone I can see clearly A new villain is born Because all the kings horses And all the kings men Couldn’t put me Back together again. Disney promised me He’d be my Prince Charming But I got a little nervous And drank something calming But this potion is too strong It’s a bit alarming And in the blink of an eye It’s the next morning So I’m done waiting For my Prince Charming.

That Moment
The club is so hot I’m sweating through my dress
And the musics too loud it’s beating in my chest
Singing and swaying to the songs that we hear
Nothing else matters as we cheer
Then the lights come on and closing time starts to play
I always knew tonight was going to end this way
In the Uber ride home my head starts to clear
That moment has come that moment I fear
And as soon as I’m through the front door
I am all alone once more
And no matter how happy I think I am
It all comes crashing down again
There’s no more audience no need for a show
Only the bad thoughts that no one can know
Champagne on ice dressed to the nines
The rounds keep coming all night
And as we pub crawl down the street
We wake people from their sleep
Singing and dancing and slurring our words
Ours the only voices that can be heard
But then someone decides to call it a night
And I feel the silence reach out and grip me tight
As soon as I’m through the front door
I am all alone once more
And no matter how happy I think I am
It all comes crashing down again
There’s no more audience no need for a show
Only the bad thoughts that no one can know
My walls are down I am defenceless
That voice so loud leaving me senseless
You’re all alone because they all hate you
You cannot be loved no one will date you
Sooner or later the voice is gone
It fades away at the brink of dawn
But the scars made can’t be fixed with a smile
It just holds it at bay for a little while
As soon as I’m through the front door
I am all alone once more
No matter how happy I think I am
It all comes crashing down again
There’s no more audience no need for a show
Only those thoughts that no one can know
Alone
I’m screaming, why can’t you see
I’m hurting, won’t you help me
You’ll bend over backward for everyone else
Do I even come close
There’s this perfect girl you want me to be
Do you know she isn’t me
All alone in my room
You know what to do
I’m crying
Why’d you leave me alone
When you should have known
I’m dying
I’m breathing, why’s it so hard
I’m screaming, will the healing start
Every smile starts to feel like a lie
Do you believe I’m fine
One day I’ll leave and you’ll never see me again
How will it end
All alone in my room
You know what to do
I’m crying
Why’d you leave me alone
When you should have known
I’m dying
I’m trying, I’m crying, I’m hurting, I’m dying
I’m trying, I’m crying, I’m hurting, I’m dying
I’m trying, I’m crying, I’m hurting, I’m dying
No more trying, no more crying, I’m dying
All alone in my room
You know what to do
I’m crying
Why’d you leave me alone
When you should have known
I’m dying

Love Yourself
Here is Halsey’s cover of Justin Bieber’s Love Yourself on Triple J. I don’t listen to JB’s music but I cannot stop listening to this song. So I decided to share it with you. Hope you like it.

Maroon 5
Here’s a cover of Maroon 5’s Sugar by Paul Woida. I thing it’s awesome.
I love how everyone just stares at him as he walks past singing.

Ed Sheeran
I just found a clip of Ed Sheeran Covering Christina Aguilera’s ‘Dirty’ and it just proves that he can make any song his own and make it awesome.
Here’s the clip of him performing on BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge.
Right?!? It’s amazing! I love Ed Sheeran.

Panic! At The Disco
I just watched Panic! At The Disco doing a cover of Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and I had to show you guys.
I don’t know about you, but I think they did an awesome job. Not even Queen used to do the crazy part towards the end when they played live. They would play the film clip of that part on a screen in the background.
When doing Bohemian Rhapsody live, the entire song, it’s either going to be a hit or a miss. Congrats to the Panic!
boys for doing an amazing job.

Canadian Love
I thought would to share with you some of my favourite bands. Well, the Canadian ones at least, because I recently discovered that a lot of my favourite bands are from Canada. Here are the first songs I ever listened to from some of my Favourite Canadian bands.
Three Days Grace is from Ontario and here is their song ‘Are You Ready’. If you think you see Hilary Duff in there, you are not mistaken. I started listening to them after watching Raise Your Voice.
Simple Plan is from Montreal and this is their song ‘Addicted’. This isn’t technically their first song I heard. I first heard the is song ‘Vacation’ and the only copy I could find of that had parts of the movie New York Minute in it. Yes, I found this band while watching a teenage girl movie too, but in my defence, I was a teenage girl.
Marianas Trench is from Vancouver and this is ‘All To Myself’. I really liked this film clip, so I looked up the rest of their songs. I found this one myself. No girly movie required.
So how great is Canada, eh?
I knew that was lame as soon as I said it.

Queen
I thought I might talk to you about, what is arguably the greatest band there ever was, Queen. What can one say about Queen? (the band in case you were wondering) Their songs are incredible. They are lyrical geniuses.
Bohemian Rhapsody is a master piece.
Then there’s Freddie Mercury. His connection with the crowd, his vocals, his energy. He draws people in, makes them want to listen.
The clip below is when Queen played at Wembley Stadium 11th of July 1986. They played Radio Ga Ga and he has the entire audience just hanging off his every word.
Let’s not forget the other members of Queen. Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon also played their part. A front man is nothing without his band members. Even after Freddie’s passing Brian May and Roger Taylor went on tour again recently, with the help of Adam Lambert.
I went to their concert and Adam may not be Freddie but he came as close as one could get and put on a great show.
I grew up listening to Queen’s greatest hits album and Bohemian Rhapsody is still a favourite in our house. Whenever it’s on my family and I yell out the lyrics at the top of our lungs. We get out the air guitars and everything.
What can one say about Queen? Only that they are amazing and it’s tragic that Freddie Mercury left us too soon.

Nickelback
I love music videos that have a story to it. Nickelback’s Someday is about a guy trying to get his girlfriend to stay but she’s determined to leave. She drives away and he follows her… right up until she crashes. She dies and then they are reunited because it turns he was dead all along. I like stories with a twist. There are clues along the way that hints something’s not right with him, have you questioning what’s going on.
If I ever get to make music videos, those are the ones I’ll make. Stories. Drama. Action. Plot twists. I think about what the music video would look like when I write lyrics.
I hope they get to be made.
