I thought I might share with you some songs that I listen to that didn’t quite make my favourites list.

Today I chose a song by The Dead Kennedys ‘Holiday in Cambodia’. I like the lyrics. I like songs where the lyrics make you think, they give you a new perspective. This song is about the terrible things Cambodia went through in the 70s under the Dictator Pol Pot.

Musicians have a lot of influence over their audience, I like it when they use that influence to make people more aware of things happening around the world. A lot of songs these days are just a catchy tune with some meaningless lyrics. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, sometimes that’s what the mood calls for, but the songs I remember most are the ones that make me question things, make me change the I think.

That’s what I hope to be able to one day.
